Jess is a purist when it comes to his sound. Always looking for the elusive "perfect tone", Jess has been known to spare no (reasonable) expense on achieving the tone he seeks. Currently, Jess has found a really great combination of amps to use. A Fender Twin Reverb 2X12 and a Mesa-Boogie Lone Star Special 2X12 combo run his sound. Both amps are all tube power amps.

    For this band, tube amps are king! All the members use tube amps. As far as guitars are concerned, Jess has been known to play some very nice axes. In his rotation of guitars, he regularly uses a Les Paul Standard and a Taylor T-5 electric/acoustic. In his collection, he also has a PRS Custom 22 and a Taylor 614-ce. Both of the latter are very collectable and don't see much duty anymore.                      

Jess is not a big proponent of a huge amount of floor effects and really only uses a Line 6 Guitar PODxt live for any sound processing he needs. Recently he acquired a Tone-Bone DI box to switch between amps.

With his current set up, Jess seems content with his sound. For now, that is...
